TypeScript runtime
TypeScript applications, with explicit permissions.
Varta compiles a checked TypeScript subset to WebAssembly and runs it on Wasmtime. Package applications with their runtime and publish selected functions through typed tool contracts.

TypeScript to WebAssembly
Check types and compile supported source to portable Wasm. Unsupported language features produce diagnostics before execution.
Explicit system access
File, environment and network operations need matching permissions for both the operation and resource. A separate host policy can further restrict the package.
Native packages and typed tools
Bundle portable Wasm and the runtime into one native executable. Discover published tools and call them locally with checked JSON input.
Current development stage
An MVP in active development. Full JavaScript and Node.js/npm compatibility, persistent application state and MCP bridges remain on the roadmap. Development is verified on Linux and macOS; Windows packaging is not yet verified.
