Getting started
Quickstart
From sign-up to a first finished task in the web app — your company, its Chief of Staff, and one piece of work done.
This walk-through uses the web app at snaga.ai and needs no code. By the end you will have a company, you will have talked to its Chief of Staff, and one task will be done. If you would rather start from the API, read Your first API call instead.
1. Sign in
Open snaga.ai and go to the sign-in card, headed Start free. There are two ways in, and the same card serves new and returning people:
- With your email. Enter your address and Snaga sends a 6-digit code. Type it in and choose Verify & continue. If the code does not arrive, check your spam folder or ask for a new one.
- With an account you already have. The sign-in page offers Continue with GitHub, Google or Apple.
There is no password to choose. Your company is created the first time you sign in, and it already has a Chief of Staff — the agent that coordinates everything else.
2. Choose how to start
A brand-new company opens on a short setup path, Step 1 of 5, asking What are we building? You have two choices, and both are fine.
Start small. Choose Skip — open my company. You land in the company with the Chief of Staff ready, and you can add agents one at a time later. This is the quickest way to a first finished task; go straight to step 3 below.
Build from a template. Pick a company template and follow the five steps:
- What are we building? — choose a template.
- A few details and the price — fill in what the template asks for. Snaga works out what it will cost and whether it fits your plan. If it does not, the screen names the plan that fits and offers to upgrade; payment opens and brings you back.
- Here is your company — review what the template will build and set a Monthly spend cap, USD: runs that cost money stop at the cap, and you can change it at any time. Then choose Create. Under the hood the template becomes a proposed change that you apply; nothing is created until you do.
- Test run — one cycle with external actions turned off: nothing is published or paid for. Choose Run a test and wait for it to pass.
- Launch — when nothing blocks the launch, choose Launch company. Scheduled and automated work starts only from this moment.
You can leave the path at any time and come back; the app remembers which step you reached. A company that is set up but not launched shows Continue setting up on its start page.
3. Write to the Chief of Staff
Open Chief of Staff in the navigation — the hint reads Tell the company what to do. This is a conversation with your company's coordinating agent.
The first time, it offers a few examples to start from:
- How is the company doing? — what got done, what waits for you, what failed.
- Change what the company does — it asks what you want, then prepares a proposed change for your approval.
- Give the team a one-off task — a result brought back for your review.
Pick one, or type your own task in the box. Be concrete about the result you want and by when. For example:
Find the five most-cited articles from the last year about small-business bookkeeping
software and give me a one-paragraph summary of each, with links.
Send it. Each message starts a run: you see the agent's answer appear as it works.
4. Answer if the agent asks
Some actions need your permission before an agent may take them. When that happens the conversation shows a card — Asks your permission — with what the agent wants to do. You can:
- Allow — the action goes ahead and the run continues.
- Don't allow — the action is refused.
- Not now — nothing is sent; the request keeps waiting for you.
Tick Always allow this to remember your choice for that action on this agent. An agent may also ask you a question instead; answer it in the conversation and the run picks up where it stopped. Everything that waits for you also appears under Needs you. See Approvals for the details.
5. Read the result
When the run finishes, the answer is in the conversation. That is your first finished task. From here you can keep the conversation going, ask the Chief of Staff to make the work regular, or add agents for specific jobs.
If something stops you
- A limit message. Every plan has quotas — for example runs per month and tokens per day. The message says which limit was reached and when it resets. See Usage and limits.
- The template does not fit your plan. Upgrade from the setup screen, or choose Skip — open my company and start on your current plan.
Next steps
- How Snaga works — the model behind what you just did.
- Your first API call — do the same from code.
- Governance and guardrails — set limits on what agents may do.
